HARTFORD, Conn. — Stefanie Dolson became the 36th University of Connecticut women’s basketball player to reach the 1,000-point plateau Saturday during the third-ranked Huskies’ Big East game with Syracuse at the XL Center.
The 6-foot-5 junior center from Port Jervis, N.Y. reached the plateau with a layup off a pass from Brianna Banks with 12:39 left in the first half. She entered with 992 points.
Dolson came into the game averaging career highs of 13.1 points and 6.7 rebounds in 26.7 minutes. She ranked first in the Big East and fourth nationally in field-goal percentage (60.8).
