No. 1 Louisville will become the ninth time the Huskies have played a No. 1 team in its history. UConn holds a 2-6 record against top-ranked teams.

The last No. 1 team to visit UConn was Texas on Jan. 23 2010, a 88-74 UConn win.

The last time the Huskies faced a No. 1 team at the XL Center was Jan. 19, 1997 with a 73-65 loss to Kansas, a team that included Paul Pierce. That game featured a freshman guard named Richard Hamilton having a breakout performance. current UConn Director of Basketball Operations Ricky Moore had to sit out that game with an NCAA suspension ¬†while it also marked the end of Kirk King’s career because of an NCAA violation.
