STORRS, Conn. — Welcome to Gampel Pavilion as the second-ranked University of Connecticut women’s basketball team plays host to No. 10 Penn State.

The Huskies (7-0) are playing their second Top 10 opponent in four days having knocked off ninth-ranked Maryland 63-48 Monday in the Jimmy V Classic at the XL Center in Hartford. The Lady Lions (6-1) suffered their first loss of the season at Miami-Florida a week ago but rebounded with a rout of Fairleigh Dickinson Sunday. The teams have one common opponent as both visited Texas A&M last month. UConn defeated the Aggies 81-51 on Nov. 18, four days after the Lady Lions slipped past A&M 63-58.

UConn sophomore Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis will play after suffering a left quad contusion in the first half of the Maryland game.

After facing Penn State, the Huskies will take a 12-day break for fall semester final exams. They’ll return to action Dec. 19 against Oakland (Mich.) at the XL Center.
