Whitmer didn’t finish Saturday’s 23-20 triple overtime win over Louisville after coming out in the fourth quarter after taking a hit to the ahead. UConn has not publicly said it was a concussion, but he was held out of walk-through’s on Sunday.
” Chander will be out of practice (Sunday),” UConn coach Paul Pasqualoni said. “We are just having a very light walk through. He won’t be involved in that. He will have Monday off as with all players. He will have two days and we will see how he is on Tuesday.”
Whitmer was 7 of 21 for 71 yards before giving way to Johnny McEntee. McEntee, last year’s starter, was 2 of 7 but threw a touchdown in Shakim Philips in overtime.
Pasqualoni also said other injured players, such as Trevardo Williams, will most likely be available for Saturday’s game. Williams had three sacks on Saturday and has 11.5 on the season.
